Aura Šriubšaitė began her dance journey 13 years ago. The first street dance style she tried was Hip-Hop, which she practiced for a long time with professional dancer, choreographer and creator Airida Gudaitė. Aura also tried other street dance styles, such as Popping, Locking, Breaking, House, but she was most impressed by the Waacking dance style, which she started dancing more than 10 years ago with the pioneer of Waacking dance in Lithuania - Brigida Gruodytė. Aura was impressed by the plasticity of hands, the emotion and elegance of the Waacking dance style.
In 2018-2019, Aura studied contemporary dance at the National M. K. Čiurlionis School of Arts. Also, wanting to further expand her knowledge of Waacking dance, she participated in various workshops, festivals, events, and dance battles abroad: The Waack off event in Germany, workshops with Chrissy Chou, Archie Burnett; All Europe Waacking festival in France, workshops with Bagsy, Princess Madoki; Summer Dance Forever event in the Netherlands, workshops with Boubou, Nubian Nene, and many other events. Aura is also very active in the dance battle events in Lithuania, where she won more than a few first places: in 2019: Funky Soul Connection, Vogue mini Ball: Deep in the Jungle, House is Funky, in 2022 Funky Soul Connection. In 2023, Aura Šriubšaitė, together with co-creator and teacher at Underground dance studio FunkyKriss, organized a street dance battle event What The Funk.
In 2025, Aura graduated from the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre (LMTA), with a BA in Contemporary Dance and Pedagogy studies. Currently, she is not only a Waacking dance teacher, but also a professional performer and budding creator who is interested in the search for individuality, creativity, is open to new solutions, ideas, and acquaintances, for whom self-confidence and the courage to dance the way her body wants are important.
