Teacher speaks: LT/EN

Rūta Mackevičiūtė was always close to the arts and music as she graduated art school in her hometown. Back then playing the violin, piano, singing and after all the other classes learning to dance at the cheapest dance school - youtube! (When mom tells you you have a dance school at home).

She finally attended her first dance classes in 2018 and instantly fell inlove with the craft. Ruta started from hip-hop (‘step-up’ influence was just too strong to handle…) and tried multiple dance styles throughout the years. In 2021 she unexpectedly found Afro - and there was no way back! Ruta participated in multiple dance camps abroad and took classes from loads of amazing international dance teachers of different Afro styles (teachers such as Selma Mylene, Precious Alvares, Miguel Albino, Tebza, Willynoir, Homebros, Badgyal Cassie, Silvervice, Hamilton, Suela Wilsterman, Cori D, Ordinateur, Telminho, Johhny, Marcio Moikano, Septzilla, Limpopo boy, Oliwia Ratynska, Oulouy and others).

Amapiano, afrohouse and afrofusion caught most of her attention and now she is going to introduce you to these styles too!

Dance is what makes her feel alive and she wants to share this joy meanwhile contributing in creating Afrodance community here in Lithuania.
